Terms of use
What this website is, and what it is not.
Mostly this page exists to be clear about one thing: reading this site, or sending me a message through it, is not therapy and does not yet make you my client. The rest is the ordinary housekeeping.

Who you are dealing with
This website belongs to Pattern & Path Therapy, the private counselling practice of Devanshi Muni, Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), a registrant of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, practising from Surrey, British Columbia.
Using this site means these terms apply between us. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site or the enquiry form.
This website is not therapy
Everything here is general information about how I work. None of it is clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, or advice about your particular situation, and none of it should be relied on as a substitute for speaking to a qualified professional who knows your circumstances. Two people can read the same paragraph and need entirely different things.
Nothing on this site creates a counsellor–client relationship. That relationship begins only after we have spoken, agreed to work together, and completed intake and informed consent — not when you read a page, and not when you send an enquiry. Until then I am not your counsellor and I cannot advise you.
This site is not for emergencies, and the form is not monitored around the clock. If you or someone else is in danger right now, call 911.
For urgent mental-health support at any hour: call or text 9‑8‑8 (Suicide Crisis Helpline, Canada-wide). In British Columbia you can also reach 310‑6789 (Mental Health Support Line, no area code needed), 1‑800‑SUICIDE / 1‑800‑784‑2433, or 1‑800‑588‑8717 (KUU‑US Crisis Line, culturally aware support for Indigenous people in BC). Young people anywhere in Canada can text CONNECT to 686868.
Where I am able to work
I offer virtual sessions to clients across Canada with the exception of Quebec. What matters is where you are located, not only where you live on paper, so if you have recently moved or travel often it is worth telling me. I confirm eligibility with you before a first appointment is booked, never afterwards.
I do not provide services outside Canada.
Sending an enquiry
- Please give accurate information — I reply to the address you provide, and a typo means my reply reaches nobody.
- Please do not send clinical or health details through the form. Email is not a fully secure medium, and the form exists only to arrange a first conversation.
- Please do not send an enquiry on someone else’s behalf without their knowledge.
- Please do not use the form for advertising, recruitment, or automated submissions.
I read every enquiry myself and aim to reply within two business days. An enquiry is not an appointment, and sending one does not hold a time for you.
Booking, fees, and cancellations
Current fees are set out on the pricing page and the ways of working are described under services. Fees may change, and the pages will be updated when they do; the fee that applies to you is the one confirmed with you before your session, not the one you happened to read months earlier.
Sessions can be moved or cancelled at no cost with more than 48 hours’ notice. Inside that window, or for a missed session, the full fee applies — though genuine emergencies are treated as such. If a fee is a barrier, please say so; a sliding scale exists and you will not be asked to prove anything.
Booking and other services run by other companies
Online booking, scheduling, and video sessions may be provided through third-party platforms such as Jane. When you use one of those, you are also using that company’s service under its own terms and privacy policy, and its handling of your information is governed by its agreements, not this page. I choose these providers carefully and with privacy in mind, but I do not control their systems.
Where this site links to another organisation, such as a crisis line or a regulator, the link is offered as a convenience. I am not responsible for their content and a link is not an endorsement.
Limits of virtual work
Virtual sessions depend on technology, and technology fails: connections drop, audio garbles, platforms have outages. We will agree in advance what to do when that happens. Virtual work is also not appropriate for every situation, and part of my job is to say so honestly and help you find better-suited support if that is the case.
The content on this site
The words, images, logo, and design of this site belong to Pattern & Path Therapy or are used with permission. You are welcome to read it, print it, and share a link to it. Please do not republish it as your own or use the practice name or logo to suggest an affiliation that does not exist.
Responsibility
I keep this site accurate and current, but I do not promise it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or complete. To the extent the law allows, I am not responsible for loss arising from your use of the website itself, or from a third-party platform’s failure.
Nothing on this page limits my professional responsibility to you as a client. The standard of care I owe once we are working together, and my obligations as a Registered Clinical Counsellor, are not disclaimed here and cannot be. Nothing here removes any right you have under British Columbia consumer-protection or human-rights law.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the laws of Canada that apply there. If we disagree about something, I would far rather talk it through with you directly first.
Changes
These terms may be updated; the date at the top will change when they are. Continuing to use the site after that means the updated terms apply.
