Ways of working together.
Every option below is a secure video session. Start with the free consultation if you are not sure — working out where to begin is part of the work, not something you need to arrive with.

Individual counselling
One-to-one work at your pace, shaped around what you are actually carrying rather than a fixed programme. We make sense of the patterns underneath the stress, and build ways of coping that hold up outside the session.
Children, adolescents, young adults, and adults.

Relationship counselling
For the conversations that keep going the same way. We slow the cycle down so each person can be heard without blame, and look for the route back toward one another.
Couples and marriage — communication, trust, intimacy, and repair after hurt.
Family — difficult dynamics with parents, siblings, or adult children.

Extended counselling
A longer session, for the weeks when fifty minutes would end things halfway. Useful for trauma processing that needs time to settle before we close, for first sessions with a lot of history, and for couples working through something live.
Available for individuals and for relationships — couples rates are $230 for 75 minutes and $250 for 90.

ICBC-funded counselling
If you have an open ICBC claim after a motor vehicle accident, counselling is very likely covered. Billing goes straight to ICBC, so there is nothing for you to pay upfront and nothing to claim back. In the first twelve weeks after a crash, sessions are pre-approved — no referral from a doctor and no approval from ICBC is needed to begin.
To book, I need
- Your date of birth
- The date of the accident
- Your ICBC claim number
- Your Personal Health Number
Past the twelve-week mark we simply keep going — I submit a treatment plan to ICBC for approval. That is my paperwork, not yours, and it does not need a doctor’s referral.

Areas of support
Whichever service you begin with, this is the kind of thing people bring.
Direct billing and insurance
Direct billing is available with several major insurers, and you will receive a receipt with my registration details after every session. Coverage differs plan to plan, so it is worth asking your provider whether sessions with a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) or Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) are included before you begin.
Plans that commonly reimburse RCC counselling in BC
Listed for your reference only. Pattern & Path Therapy is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any of these companies, and their names and marks belong to them. Coverage is set by your specific plan rather than by the insurer as a whole, so please confirm with your provider before your first session — ask whether sessions with a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) are included.
Cancellations
Sessions can be moved or cancelled free of charge with more than 48 hours’ notice. Inside that window, or for a missed session, the full fee applies — though life does produce genuine emergencies, and those are treated as such.
If a fee is a barrier for you, please say so rather than ruling therapy out. A sliding scale is available.
Not sure where you fit?
That is such a common place to begin. Tell me about it in your own words, and we will find the starting point together.
